Idaho Form ID W-4

Copy status A/B/C from your ID W-4, independently of federal filing status. The single default is an estimate starting point. Uses the current July 23, 2026 annual table, not the general webpage's older example or historical paychecks. Annualize taxable wages, apply 5.3% over $16,100 (A/C) or $32,200 (B), divide by payments and round to whole dollars. Child-credit allowances currently reduce wages by $0; the older certificate worksheet is not a current credit calculator. Copy a whole-dollar line 2 extra or valid current exemption already documented; no eligibility determination. Annual bonus is averaged with wages, not a separately issued 5.3% payment. Local, multistate and special-plan scope excluded. View Form ID W-4

Current 2026 child-credit allowance amount is zero; changing this recorded count does not reduce withholding. Do not use the older form worksheet to infer a current credit.
Copy the whole-dollar amount from line 2 once, independently of federal extra withholding.
Copy only a valid current exemption already documented with your employer. The tool does not decide eligibility, treaty, military, tribal, nonresident or transport exceptions. State and state extra become zero; federal or other-state obligations are not removed.

What-if scenarios

Calculations are estimates for informational purposes and are not tax, legal, or financial advice. Actual withholding and take-home pay may differ.

Idaho paycheck example

A $52,000 salary over 26 biweekly payments is $2,000 gross per check. This example uses single federal filing status, no W-4 adjustments, and no bonus, tips or deductions. Every amount below comes from the calculator's shared 2026 engine.

Estimated biweekly amounts for a $52,000 Idaho salary

How Idaho withholding is calculated

Current 2026 table and whole-dollar rounding

The July 23, 2026 table sets the annual threshold at $16,100 for Single/head of household and $32,200 for Married. We use the allowed annualized wage method and round the calculated withholding for each pay period to the nearest whole dollar. Other printed payroll-period tables may differ. This is a current-table estimate, not a reconstruction of earlier 2026 payroll or final return tax.

ID W-4 status is independent of federal filing status

Copy A, B or C from your completed ID W-4. A and C use the Single schedule; B uses Married. The default Single schedule is a starting estimate, not an eligibility decision. Changing federal filing status does not replace your Idaho election. Enter a line 2 additional amount in whole dollars, once. The current child-credit allowance amount is zero, so recorded allowance counts do not reduce withholding; the older certificate worksheet does not establish a current credit.

Valid exemption and cross-state limits

A current valid exemption already documented with your employer can suppress state withholding and state extra. This calculator does not determine no-liability, military, tribal, treaty, nonresident or interstate-transport exclusions. Boise, Coeur d’Alene or another Idaho location alone cannot decide residency or another state's taxing rights. Local taxes, allocation, credits and special plans are not modeled.

Taxable benefits, reported tips and annual bonus

Idaho follows eligible federal tax deferral for 401(k) and cafeteria plans. Enter actual qualifying deductions and taxable reported tips; Roth or otherwise taxable contributions are not pre-tax. Annual bonus is averaged with ordinary taxable wages here. A separately issued supplemental payment may follow the official 5.3% method, but that separate payment and its timing are outside this estimate.

Entered overtime does not decide legal eligibility

The Labor Department guide describes federal coverage, weekly overtime and exemptions. Enter applicable overtime hours and multiplier separately. This calculator does not determine coverage, exemptions, legal regular rate, tip credits, minimum wage, farmworker rules or lawful deductions. A salaried label alone does not establish an overtime exemption.

Employer UI and workers’ compensation are separate

Idaho Labor states employees do not pay into the unemployment fund. The Industrial Commission states employers pay the entire workers’ compensation premium and may not deduct it from employee wages. Neither is subtracted here. Actual permitted employee benefits remain separate; employer liabilities and coverage are not calculated.

Idaho paycheck questions

What the Idaho estimate includes, which official schedules it uses, and what it deliberately leaves out.

Which Idaho withholding table does this use?

The current July2026 annual table uses5.3% over $16,100 for A/C or $32,200 for B. The allowed annualized method rounds each period to whole dollars. Copy your actual ID W-4 status, additional amount or valid exemption. This is not historical payroll or final return liability.

How much is a $52,000 Idaho salary per biweekly paycheck?

Before taxes and deductions, $52,000 divided over 26 biweekly checks is $2,000 per check. The worked example uses the shared calculation engine to show the federal taxes and estimated net amount.

Why does my employer's paycheck differ?

Your W-4, taxable benefit elections, garnishments, year-to-date wages, irregular payments and payroll rounding can change actual withholding. This is an annualized estimate, not a tax return or a payroll compliance determination.

Does this cover another state's tax if I commute across a border?

No. Idaho selection does not decide another state's residency, work-location or withholding obligations. Review the applicable state rules for cross-border work.
