What compression can and cannot do
Browser-based compression rewrites the file with shared object streams and clears leftover metadata. It helps with bloated or repeatedly edited files, but it does not re-encode photos or scans, so some PDFs shrink only a little — or not at all. The original file is never changed.
Passwords and protected files
Password-protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be opened in a browser, and this toolkit cannot add or remove a password either. Remove the password in the program that created the file first, then bring it back here.
About signing
Signing here places your own signature image onto your own file on this device. It is a personal signature stamp, not a witnessed or tracked e-signature service.
Nothing is stored
Your files are read into this page’s memory only. Closing the tab removes them, and nothing is ever uploaded, emailed or saved to a server.
