How Arkansas withholding is calculated
Use the current2026 formula
The agency directory links the formula and revised4/27/26 employer guide, posted29May2026. These use3.7% at the top, unlike the older indexed guide at3.9%. Annualize taxable pay, subtract$2,470, use the$50 midpoint of each$100 range below$100,001, then the actual amount from$100,001. Apply the published bracket/recapture adjustment, round annual gross tax, subtract$29 per AR4EC exemption, divide by payments and round paycheck cents.
Source boundaries and payment frequency
Normative step2 specifies$100,001; old prose in the worked example mentions$97,701. This tool follows step2 without smoothing the small midpoint discontinuity. Daily uses260; weekly52, biweekly26, semimonthly24 and monthly12. Quarterly and semiannual choices are generic annual-formula projections, not printed payroll columns. Regular annual totals sum rounded representative payments; recurring overtime rounds per payment and the annual bonus is withheld once, shown as an average. This is not actual YTD payroll.
Standard certificate only
Copy AR4EC line3 total exemptions and line4 nonnegative extra once. Without a certificate start at zero; federal status does not award state exemptions. Use this standard estimate only when your actual certificate does not elect line5 low-income tables. Those separate status/dependent tables, AR4ECSP, Texarkana border-city and military exemptions are not modeled or determined. Follow the official sources when they apply.
Bonus, overtime and benefits
The current guide's supplemental paragraph includes bonus, commission and overtime. This estimate separates entered bonus and overtime from regular state wages and uses3.7%, without regular exemptions. Percent retirement is allocated proportionately; fixed qualifying deductions apply to regular wages first, with any excess proportionally reducing supplemental wages. This is a stated annual estimate, not a reconstruction of actual payment dates or employer allocations. Roth and otherwise taxable benefits remain taxable; report taxable tips. Entered hours and multipliers do not establish legal overtime entitlement.
Employee costs and legal scope
DWS says UI is not deducted from employee wages; AWCC says employees must not fund workers compensation premiums. Neither is deducted here. State minimum wage, four-employee coverage, applicable federal rules, tip credits, legal regular rates, lawful deductions and special overtime arrangements are separate. No local/interstate allocation, tax credit, nonresident coordination or full legal payroll compliance determination is made.

Arkansas paycheck questions
What the Arkansas estimate includes, which official schedules it uses, and what it deliberately leaves out.
What is a$52,000 Arkansas salary every two weeks?
Over26 payments gross is$2,000. With single federal filing, zero standard AR4EC exemptions, no extra, benefits, bonus or tips, estimated state withholding is$56.38 and net$1,634.47. Different actual elections change the estimate.
Does this support Arkansas low-income tables?
No. This is the standard formula only. The AR4EC line5 election has separate tables by filing status and dependents; special AR4ECSP, Texarkana and military eligibility are also outside scope. Consult the official certificate and tables when they apply.
Are supplemental amounts actual separate-check withholding?
No. Entered annual bonus and overtime are modeled separately at the current3.7% supplemental rate with stated deduction allocation. Payment dates, irregular payments, actual employer benefit allocation and complete payroll history are not reconstructed.
